Dear fellow yogis,
The time has come to introduce the It’s Yoga Fuerteventura (IYFV) blog! We are happy to be here & have You here.
The blog is designed to keep you up to date with the latest news, happenings and events at IYFV, as well as tell you a little bit more about the history of It’s Yoga International, the roots of the Ashtanga and Rocket® practice and give some insights into the island life here in Corralejo, Fuerteventura.
It’s Yoga Fuerteventura was founded two years ago, on October 1st 2015, by studio owner Salla. Since then, the studio has been welcoming people from all corners of the world and been a space to share the love of the practice for both visiting and local practitioners. We are grateful for our varied client base that allows us to welcome our dedicated, regular, local practitioners as well as visiting walk-in yogis that happen to come across IYFV for one, two classes or sometimes daily for a month during their holidays. In this way, IYFV is happily establishing a world-wide network of fellow yogis.
It’s Yoga Fuerteventura is part of the international It’s Yoga community that momentarily has seven studios located all around the world in USA, Central America, Europe and Asia. It’s Yoga was first founded in San Francisco in 1989. That means that IYFV closely follows the weekly sequence that you will be able to find in all It’s Yoga studios around the world.
It's Yoga week flows!
We start the week with the Full Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga on Sundays, honouring the roots of the practice. Mondays are for Rocket® I which is still closely based on the Full Primary sequence. Tuesdays and Wednesdays lift up the energy and break a little with tradition as we move into the Rocket® II days. Thursdays are for coming back to the roots, and we have the option of practicing the Modified Primary Series (MPS) of It’s Yoga, the Full Primary Series of Ashtanga, or the Rocket® I. All It’s Yoga studios around the world end the week with a celebration as we fly through Rocket® III on Fridays. Saturdays are free!
In addition to our evening classes, IYFV offers two MPS morning practices, two silent classes in a “Follow the Yogi” style and the very unique beach class every Wednesday. IYFV also hosts workshops and Yoga Alliance certified Teacher trainings. For more class & training information visit www.itsyogafuerteventura.com
IYFV is currently welcoming its first intern, Kim, who you will be seeing around the studio! As part of her studies for a Bachelor in International Sport Management and Business, Kim is doing a six month internship at IYFV, as well as teaching some of the community classes. Kim’s journey with IYFV began a year ago, when she first joined the August 200hr training, decided to stay for the 301 Rocket® Foundations training and came back for the 302 Rocket® Take-Off a few months later. Since then she has been back several times to practice and teach with IYFV.
We are happy that you found your way to us and hope to welcome you in our studio space soon!
You are doing great – Larry Schultz
With Love and Light,
